The Anderson Search Group has been engaged by a repeat client to identify a Director, Private Banking.  This is a client we have made multiple placement with - including the Head of Trust and Wealth, the Head of Asset Based Lending, the Head of Equipment Finance, Chief Investment Officer, and multiple commercial bankers.  This role will be responsible for leading the creation of operation of a new Private Client Group within the bank.  We know, without a doubt, this is fantastic bank to be a part of and one of the Top Super-Community Banks in the country.

The Ideal Candidate Shall Possess:

  • 7+ years private banking/private client operational and leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to successful design, launch and operate the private bank/private client platform for a bank - build out private bank playbook, build out policies and procedures, dashboards/KPI's
  • CFP strongly desired
  • Role is based in Little Rock, Arkansas - must either live there or be able to relocate there - no remote or hybrid

Full Job Description:

Build processes and procedures
1. Leads/participates in the design, implementation and management of core business/group processes.
2. Leads / assists with creation business proposals or presentations (e.g. relationship plans, financial plans and reviews)
3. Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
4. Ensure strong controls and effective operational and administrative services.
5. Ensure compliance on regulatory requirements and minimizes any potential liability for Bank OZK.
6. Ensure clients are presented with seamless execution of internal processes and OZK Private Bank services.
7. Follow standard procedures and advocate appropriate exceptions to standard practices when the bigger picture needs to be considered, and seeks or grants approvals as appropriate.
8. Follows through on the risk and compliance processes and policies to ensure we safeguard our customers’ assets, maintain their privacy, act in their best interests, and ensures an effectively run function.
Strategic Plan
9. Develops and executes the business development strategy, sales targets and sales results for the Private Client Group.
10. Recommends business priorities, advises on resource requirements and strategic decisions, and develops roadmap for strategic execution.
11. Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
12. Oversees the design, development, and implementation of tools and training required to deliver on business and financial goals.
13. Reviews the program for effectiveness, considers industry trends and recommends enhancements; makes changes as required.
14. Plan and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly activities to maximize revenue growth and client satisfaction.
Management
15. Set challenging goals, regularly monitoring progress and making adjustments to achieve objectives.
16. Monitors and tracks private banking officers' performance and ensures policies and procedures are met. Addresses any issues.
17. Prioritize issues that need to be escalated, getting the appropriate people involved to expedite resolution.
18. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
19. Manages, mentors, and trains the team. Help team members acquire the experience necessary to establish credibility with clients and intermediaries.
20. Align complementary experiences and skill sets of team members to maximize client effectiveness.
21. Encourage team members to work together to deepen client relationships and exceed sales goals.
Managing client relationships
22. Help build customer lists
23. Act as the primary Relationship Manager for assigned client relationships. Ensures that existing client relationships are sustained and nurtured.
24. Develops rapport and instills confidence with the client to develop credibility and earn their trust.
25. Meets high-quality service standards to maximize relationship retention and growth.
26. Uses an advisory-based financial planning approach to manage opportunities and relationships.
27. Leads Annual Client Review with team members to evaluate changing needs, increase communication with client, and implement the client experience.
28. Proactively identifies client needs and concerns to diagnose and facilitate resolution of client issues.
29. Produces client reports that demonstrate the value provided and assesses clients at-risk for retention.
30. Develops internal and external networks and referral sources to competitive insights and best practices, and to grow business in the assigned portfolio / jurisdiction.
31. Enhances presence in the marketplace by collaborating with other experts (e.g. internal team, outside attorneys, accountants) to create integrated business development plan.
32. Act as the primary subject matter expert on private client banking for internal/external stakeholders.
33. Protect the Bank's assets and comply with all regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.
34. Follow through on risk and compliance processes and policies to ensure the Bank safeguards customers’ assets, maintains their privacy, acts in their best interests, and ensures an effective private banking operation.
35. Display a high degree of integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism at all times.
36. Enthusiastically support and model the bank’s values and mission.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of private banking principles, practices, operations, and regulatory requirements
• Knowledge of financial investments, wealth planning, credit, and banking concepts
• Knowledge of banking products, services, and capabilities
• Ability to demonstrate expertise and professional maturity to discuss complicated issues and opportunities with high net-worth clients
